How do we use human-centered design to unlock the full potential of AI and ML? How do we rethink the relationship between humans and tech to drive behavior change in domains like healthcare, social media, and financial services? What are the paradigms that will drive how we interact with voice UIs and smart physical spaces as they become ubiquitous? These are a few of the questions I am obsessed with presently.

I am an experienced multidisciplinary team leader with a passion for innovation and creating the future. I have driven the strategy and build of transformative products that now live in the world for everyone from large global banks to refugees living near the Jordanian-Syrian border. Navigating ambiguity to capture opportunity fuels me. I have deep comfort translating across disciplines, marrying my business expertise with domains such as machine learning, digital marketing and brand strategy, and design thinking and creative methods. I also have taught design and innovation workshops to everyone from entrepreneurs to executives at leading tech companies in Silicon Valley.

Professional Highlights

  • Extensive experience developing differentiated consumer-facing products, services, and experiences that create disruptive growth and strategic advantage for Fortune 500 and startup companies with an emphasis on fintech

  • Spent 4 years as a consultant at McKinsey & Company, where I advanced from Analyst, to Senior Associate (post-MBA level), and then to Engagement Manager in 2 years

  • Worked as a global leader at McKinsey with LUNAR, Veryday, and Digital McKinsey Experience Design to build a new design practice within McKinsey (McKinsey Design)

  • Pioneered innovative processes for bridging together insights from qualitative research (e.g., shop-alongs, ethnographies, usability testing) and quantitative research (e.g., surveys, segmentation, brand equity analyses, conjoint analyses for feature selection)

  • Deep experience teaching design thinking to global audiences both within and outside of McKinsey and Stanford’s d.school

  • Worked on the ground with the International Rescue Committee to stand up their Regional Innovation Hub in Amman, Jordan

  • Conducted projects for the Syrian Refugee Crisis related to social enterprise incubation, information flows for refugee communications, and creating a new communication device for refugees

  • Experience in finance at Oliver Wyman and JPMorgan Chase prior to my transition to innovation strategy

Education

  • Completed a Master’s degree in design and engineering with Stanford and the d.school (designimpact.stanford.edu)

  • Graduated from UPenn's Huntsman Program with a B.S. in Economics from Wharton (concentrations in finance and statistics) and B.A. in International Studies from the School of Arts and Sciences (with minors in French and mathematics)

  • Completed UX Design Certificate Program at the Pratt Institute

Other Facts

  • Spend ~10+ hours per week doing volunteering work with the YMCA as Program Director of a Regional Model UN Program that serves ~2,000 participants annually across NJ, MD, PA, DE, and NY

  • Avid traveler, policy junkie, and photographer, the last of which leads to many of the students I work with at the YMCA calling me their "stage mom"

  • Certified by the Paris Chamber of Commerce in French for business applications
